Owo, Hamid Olatunbosun is the Factory Field Officer for Cassava: Adding Value for Africa (CAVA II) Project. He is stationed at Thai Farm International Ltd (TFI). A Food Technologist, he had both his undergraduate and postgraduate studies at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta. Hamid postgraduate research work was sponsored by Gratitude Project, where in conjunction with other scientists, he worked on the production and storage characteristics of high quality water yam flour.
Also, he studied the effect of different curing methods on the storage stability of different yam species. For the CAVA II project, he is currently researching on the rate of starch loss with time in freshly harvested cassava roots as well as correlating the starch content of cassava roots supplied to TFI using gravimetric and laboratory procedures. He keeps record of roots supply by smallholder farmers and also documents the record of starch contents of all root supplied by farmers.
