Gilbert Kamiyala has a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture Economic from Bunda College. He has 7 years experience in project design, monitoring and evaluation with international organisations. He worked for World Vision International as Monitoring and Evaluation Co-ordinator for two years before being promoted to Pragramme Manager for Ngodzi Integrated Development Programme. Some of his main responsibilities included leading project management, value chain market analysis, networking with district and community partners, staff capacity building, supporting development of community engagement, mobilisation and conducting gender analysis and project monitoring, evaluation and report writing.
His main role in the CAVA II project is to provide leadership in monitoring activities leading to actualisation of the project objectives, identification of risks and documentation of successes, challenges, and opportunities in the course of project implementation. He also has the responsibility of regularly collecting market information such as price, volumes and beneficiaries participating in cassava value chains, identify trouble spots in the value chain that require immediate interventions and facilitate regular meetings with project beneficiaries; for information dissemination, shared learning experiences and project monitoring and evaluation purposes.
