Dr Kazeem Olajide Bello is a registered Animal Scientist. He holds a Master’s degree in Non-ruminant Production and a Ph.D in Non-ruminant Production from University of Agriculture Abeokuta.
Dr Bello’s work experience started as corps member in the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, where he served at the Improved Livestock Breeding Centre (ILBC), Kwatarkwasi, Zamfara State, Nigeria between 1998 and 1999.
Between January 2000 and June 2010, He worked as Livestock Officer, Farm Officer, and Coordinator, Farm Practical Year (FPY) for 300L and 400L B. Agric degree programme of the Teaching Farms Management Committee (TEFAMAC), University of Agriculture, Abeokuta. His schedule included design, coordination, grading and taking the students on internship (Mandatory Farm Practical Year) Excursion to notable farms within and outside Nigeria. He served in the board of the examiners of FMP and FPY Courses for full and part-time students including grading, and result preparations. He served as Secretary FPY Supervisors Committee for five years.
He was a member of the pioneering committee that developed the one-year Farm Practical Year, at the University of Agriculture, Abeokuta between 2003 and 2004.
In the Professional practice, Dr BELLO became a member of the Nigerian Society of Animal Production (NSAP) in 2003; member Animal Science Association of Nigeria (ASAN) in 2005; member World Poultry Science Association (WPSA), Nigerian Branch in 2005; member World Poultry Science Association (WPSA), UK Branch in 2012; Registered Animal Scientist (RAS), 2010; member Nigerian Institute of Animal Science (NIAS), 2010
He is a member of a Social Service Network, of the Sustainable Livelihood Development Network for Africa (SLIDEN) from 2004 to date. Since 2011, he is the National Secretary, Ijebu Muslim College Old Student’s Association (IMCOSA) and President IMCOSA Set ‘84
Currently, Dr BELLO is the Team Leader, Meat Type Chicken Projects of the Institute of Food Security, Environment Resources and Agricultural, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta; a strong Member, West Africa Agricultural Productivity Programme (WAAPP) Poultry Layer Technology Transfer.
Dr BELLO has published in reputable national and international journals, covering studies on Prevailing Poultry Diseases and Spatial Distribution in Southwest, Nigeria; sensible heat balance of egg-type chickens fed diets containing Groundnut Husk; Selected Welfare and Stress Assessment of Scavenging Chickens within Industrial and Agrarian Communities; Egg Yield and Egg Quality of Commercial Layers under Different Stocking Density during Short Rainy and Long Dry Seasons; Heat Balance, Hematology and Serum Chemistry of Layers under varying Stocking Density in Locally Fabricated Metal-Type Cage System; Incidence of Coccidiosis in three Strains of Broiler Chickens under Different Stocking Density; Conventional Anti-coccidian Drug and Garlic Supplements; Development of an Early Warning System for Agriculture in South Western Nigeria; Fertility, Hatchability and Performance of Harco Black and Large Fulani Eco-Type Cockerels under Intensive Rearing System etc.
